...the COUNTDOWN begins...

Approximately 3.5 days left of the year 2010.
Where in the world has the time gone?!?
CRAZYNESS

This year was definitely one to remember although it wasn't the best of years we've had in our life. We were blessed with our most precious gift from God in May, Elder Thompson, Elder & Sister Cummings returned home from their missions, Elder Latu left on his mission, and last BUT not least we lost 2 young spirits of very close family friends. (RIP Deedee & Willy Boy) We are most definitely looking forward to a New Year, New Start, New Set of Goals, & New Adventures! We absolutely can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for our little family. You already know we will be making every minute of everyday count because you never know when the Good Lord wants you to return home.

Merrrrry CHRISTmas

Sorry we haven't blogged in awhile...we've been busy; busy enjoying the company of loved ones and friends, that is. SO Thankful for being able to celebrate this Holiday Season with awesome good company. Although it was spent 2500+ miles away from our immediate families and the comfort of our true home, this Christmas was mos'def one to remember. This was our First Christmas as a family of 3. Rush got sooooo spoiled with gifts not from us, but from all our family and friends up here!! For the most part, we had a very humble, wonderful Christmas. :)

THANK YOU JESUS for you're humble birth, never ending love, life full of sacrifice, and forgiving death!! In our world today, it's so easy for us to get wrapped up in the spirit of presents and material things, when we really need to remember and put first the spirit of Christ and following his example.

Hope you all have a Wonderful, Safe, and Memorable Holidays! Mele Kalikimaka. Mele Kalisimasi. & Maligayang Pasko. <3 The Ponciano-Ahue's

'tis the Season

The most wonderful time of the year is here. FINALLY. How I love Christmas time. Not only because of the gifts and presents, but more-so because of the Celebration of our Savior's birth! How truly grateful I am for the Gospel and for being raised in it. I can honestly testify that by putting the Lord first, you will be taken care of. He has blessed us sooooo much, I can't even begin to describe. I have EVERYTHING I could possibly want; so how could Santa top a lovely home, wonderful husband, beautiful child, & amazing family? SO, 'tis the Season to be GRATEFUL :)))

Top Left, in the corner (rush's toy corner) is where our Tree is going.
Wondering why we have 2 couches? One is Linc's & One is mine!
(mine we got when we first moved up here: Free via Craigslist!)
We bought Linc's one (futon couch) for $175 via Craigslist again! haha.
But yaaah. That's pretty much our Living Room. lol

Just some Christmas decor we have around our living room.
Top Middle = Linc Me & Rushy haha.
& how could we forget Santa's Lil' Helper?!!! :-)

Big 1/2 Year !

(From Birth - NOW)

Our little Rush is 6 months today. 6 months going on 5....years! haha. If you think i'm joking, I seriously ain't. This girl has grown sooo much since she was born. It's really bittersweet! lol. Bittersweet because our sweet little innocent baby is now a 6 month old who think she is invincible! Her curiosity for the world is amazing! I love how EVERYTHING fascinates her. I love how she has what I call "itchy fingers" and tries to grab everything in sight! I love how she argues with me when I scold her when she tries to grab at everything! I love how she keeps me up at night while daddy gets his beauty sleep! I love how she throws fits when she doesn't get her way! I love how she scratches my face and yells at me to wake up in the morning! I love how she randomly blows bubbles while making the fart sound with her mouth! I love her contagious laugh! I love how every time she eats it's like she hasn't eaten for days! The list can go on and on and on forever and ever about the things I LOVE about Rush! So to sum it all up, I love LOVE Love EVERYTHING about Rush!!

simply cuteness

Last night, me and the hubby were eating Granny Apple slices and dipping them in Caramel. Can I just say that I am NOT a fan of sour things! So you can imagine how many times I was dipping my apples in the caramel and how much caramel I was putting on my apples. (lol) So as I'm double, triple, even quadruple dipping my apples into the caramel, I noticed that the hubby was only dipping his apples [once]. I asked him "Why are you only dipping your apples once? The apples are sooo tart." He replied by saying, "I can't double dip. It's a rule that you're not supposed to double dip when you're sick! It's been a rule since Elementary!" I immediately began to laugh. Not because what he said was dumb, but because what he said and how he said it was so cute! ha ha. Also because his response was the last thing I expected to hear from him! I LOVE my husband. And I LOVE how he never ceases to amaze me. :)))

11.7.10 = Happy Happy Sunday

Yesterday was Linc's 21rst Birthday!
It was also our 1 Year Marriage Anniversary!
Yippp to the Eeeee. lol foreal tho, YAY Us!

To Celebrate, Saturday we dropped Rush off at Linc's Dad's place and went out on a date. We went to the Mall and cruised, then went to Kaulani's place and chilled, then went to Black Angus for a yummy dinner! (Doesn't sound like anything exciting BUT it was nice to have our "Alone" time together:)

Sunday, I [let] Linc go with his Boss from work to the Seahawks Vs. Giants game. YES! His Boss made sure he asked my permission first, lol. But I figured attending an NFL game is like a once in a lifetime opportunity, so why not let him go? His Boss said to find someone to bring a long with him so he took Kaulana. They had a blast even though they ended up leaving the game early because the Seahawks were getting sasa'd 38-0. (lol) The final score ended up being 41-7. (smh) At least he got to experience a Pro Football Game! :)

On a deeper note: I'm SO grateful that the Lord has blessed me and MY Best Friend/Lifetime Lovah with 1 Year of Marriage; and especially blessing him with another year of Life!

Through ups & downs, trials & tribulations we have managed to strengthen our Relationship with each other as well as our Relationship with the Lord by doing our best to put him first in ALL that we do.

Although Yesterday was our Marriage Anniversary, we are currently working towards obtaining our Eternity Anniversary next Summer.

Two words: Can't Wait.

Day Four

Last day. [YAY]

Sick of Nasty Grapefruit.

H8 Celery even more, now.

Ready to eat regular foods again.

Never liked apples so much b4...ever.

More than ready to finally workout again.

Ready to see my final results tomorrow. Mhmm.

Oct 27, 2010

Day Three

Day three is finally done!
Now only [ONE] more day to gooooo.
I must admit, this diet has made me appreciate the taste of plain foods!
We aren't allowed to add salt or sugars to our meals and can't cook with oils. Now that may seem like no biggy, but try and see if YOU can eat boiled eggs, hamburger, chicken breast, or steak without even a pinch of salt or grapefruit without a pinch of sugar!?

EXACTLY.

(For those of you who do that already, ORiLLY Hi-5 yourself!:)
I can honestly say I now appreciate the taste of straight up plain meats.
I never realized how BIG of a factor salt and sugar was in my food.
Fourth and FINAL day will be a breeze. Then come the results.
hmm. we shall seeeeeeeeee <3

Oct 26, 2010

Day Two

Day TWO on the diet. Can I just say that last night, I went to sleep HUNGRY! lol But isn't that how dieting works? You eat less than what you normally eat. So NO, I'm not starving myself. I'm just not used to [not] eating something sweet after dinner or snacking through out the day. ugh. I'm also not used to drinking so much water! I swear, it feels like I'm pregnant again (knock on wood) having to pee all the dang time! haha. On the bright side, I weighed myself this morning and am was 5 lbs lighter!? I know, I know, it's just the water weight...but still, its exactly the kind of motivation I needed to continue through today! Oh and btw, this diet is designed for people to potentially lose up to 18 lbs in 4 days. W/O exercise. So we will see how far it gets me. I'm still breastfeeding pretty exclusively and would NOT have started this if I didn't think it was healthy. I still eat 3 meals a day. They're just smaller portions and Healthier options :)

Oct 25, 2010

Day One

Starting a strict Four-day diet with my friend Camille today.
Praying for Discipline to Endure to the END.
Hoping for the best results.
Wish me luck!

SO Humbled

So, one of my cousins is on his Mission in the Philippines. Meet, Elder Lelann Latu! If you don't know him, you might know his sister, Tania. And if you don't know her, then you're missing out because they both have been great examples to me throughout my life!!

I believe Lelann has been in the Philippines for a couple weeks now? Maybe almost a month? I'm not sure of exact timing but he's emailed me twice since he's been there. Both times he's emailed me, his messages made me tear up because they were both SO Humbling for me.

His First email said:
"Kelcy! I'm out in the Philippines now! It's Crazy! I live in the most ghettoest place on the mission! haha JK. My first day here it flooded, so I had to carry my luggage over my head across the river. I get my water from a well and I shower in a bucket. I also wash my clothes by hand. Anyway, how are you guys doing? Love you guys. The Church is True!
Mahal Ko Kayo"

How GRATEFUL I am to be living in a nice spacious apartment, with running water I can get from a sink, a big shower I can jump into whenever, and machines that wash my clothes for me?! It's amazing how we quickly forget all the little things in life and how easily we take them for granted! This reminds me of a saying my dad used to tell me, "When you think you have it bad, someone else has it Ten times worse." He'd usually tell me this when I'd grumble about things or when I didn't get my way or whatever the reason was, but every time he did, I stopped complaining and humbled myself VERY quickly because that saying is SO true!

Lelann's Second email said:
"Thanks for the support! The people here are very humble but so full of life! It really makes me appreciate the little things. In America, the cheap food is Spam. Well, here in the Philippines, Spam is like rich people food! People save up all there money to buy it for Christmas Dinner! Anyways, I love it here. Living in the middle of nowhere really gives me time to think about life and read. It's amazing. The Gospel is amazing. I love you guys and can't wait to see you guys again someday. 21 months pa! -Elder Latu"

I'm SO Proud of him and all the rest of the Missionaries out in the mission field sacrificing their time and lives to serve the Lord.

Carleton's

Yesterday we met up with Lincoln's dad and his family and went over to Carleton's Pumpkin Patch! Well, we met at IHOP for breakfast first, then we headed over to the Pumpkin Patch. The weather was beautiful but the air was cold. We first took Rush to look at the Farm Animals that they had. (It was only a few animals but it was still cute) Then we waited in line for the Hayride to take us over to the Patch.

Once we got to the patch, Linc, his little brother Stefyn, and Stefyn's brother Kahe headed straight to the Corn Maze! While Me, my Father-in-Law, his wife, and Rush started to look for Pumpkins. I was mainly just playing photographer and taking pictures of everything that captured my attention while we were waiting for the boys to come back from the maze. (For those of you who know me, wouldn't be surprised! haha)

About 15 minutes later, the boys came out of the maze. They said they got lost and ended up going in circles so they called it quits. lol. So we began looking for our pumpkins.

Overall, it was a really fun day! It was [our] Family's first time to a Pumpkin Patch. Yes, it wasn't just Rush's first time; me and Linc had never been to one before too! lol. So it was a cool family experience and we plan on going next year as well as the years to follow :)

Here's a sum of what it looked like:

T G I F

Thank Goodness It's Friday!

This morning I woke up to Beautiful Sun rays shining through the blinds in our room, as well as Rush talking up a storm to her toes. haha. I just LOVE how she's able to keep herself occupied! Well, up until a certain point, then she's over it and starts to fuss.

I'm SO Thankful for the opportunity that I have to be a Stay-At-Home Mommy and take care of Rush! Also, for MY Wonderful Husband who works so hard to provide for our Family!! I am truly Blessed!

But, Thank Goodness It's Friday! Today was the [FIRST] Friday Linc had to work since April. Since April, they were working 4-10 hour days Mon-Thurs; giving them Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays OFF! But now that the Sun goes down faster, they switched back to 5-8's. It was so nice while it lasted. Now we have to adjust to shorter weekends with him. But, shorter weekends are better than NO weekends with him. :)

Princess & the Peas

Today I decided to introduce Rush to Peas! This would be her second 'green' veggie to try. (The First was Green Beans and they were a Negative!) In my mind, I didn't think she'd like them because of how she reacted to the Green Beans. BUT, to my surprise [again], she LOVED it! Same reaction as the carrots, trying to eat the spoon and all! ha. ha.

Peas were a Success!!!

Her NEW Favorite thing to do......Stick Tongue!!

She dinner'd her Peas!! haha

She cried when there was no more!! lol

Let the cold begin!

So today, the weather was bittersweet. The rain was beautiful, but the gray skies were just straight up depressing. Along with the weather, came the colder than usual temperature! It started to hit me that Winter is coming very soon. Yay but Nay! Yay because Winter = the Holidays (and this will be our F1RST Holiday Season with Rush)!

But, Nay because Winter = Super COLD temps (that make you wish you were a bear and could just Hibernate ALL Winter long)!! Bahahaaa. Or maybe, that's just ME!? Anyways, today we had to go pick up some things from the store and with the weather being beautifully ugly, and Rush being a little sick; we decided to NOT take any chances! Therefore, we turned Rush into...

Fluffy Rushy!!!!
(I mean, Rush is already naturally fluffy but this just made it 10x more cute!:)

Welcome BACK to our "Undeleted" Blog!!! hahaha

Here's what happened, a couple days ago I was trying to input codes to make some of our pics "unclickable" when I guess I put in a code that Blogger.com felt was SPAM so I got an email from them saying:

Recipe for Righteousness

Tonight for FHE we made Chocolate Chip Cookies! The lesson was called "Recipe for Righteousness" and I found it on LDSSplash.com. For each ingredient, there was a righteous trait as well as a scripture about that trait.

For example:
Flour = RESPECT (1 Peter 2:17)
Baking Soda = TRUST (D&C 11:12)
Salt = HONESTY (Alma 27:27)
Butter = FAITH (Alma 15:10)
Sugar = LOYALTY (Joshua 24:15)
Brown Sugar = MORALS (Proverbs 11:3)
Vanilla = DEPENDABILITY (Mosiah 7:19)
Eggs = RESPONSIBILITY (Jacob 1:19)
Chocolate Chips = LOVE (Moroni 7:47)

The moral of this lesson was that the cookies wouldn't taste the same if one of these ingredients were missing. Same as how you can't be Righteous by being Disrespectful, Dishonest, or Hateful, etc.!

D&C 59:23

The Result was Heavenly : )

Eternal Perspective

Yesterday and today, we were lucky to be able to hear such wonderful words from the leaders of our church. Even though we had to watch it on my laptop because our cable company requires you to pay extra for the BYU channel, the spirit was still present.

It's amazing how we can watch General Conference year after year, and there is always talks and messages that pertain to us! I just love that. Overall, it seemed like the messages were words that we needed to hear. Words of encouragement to keep striving for Eternity.

Thanks to the Atonement and with the help of our Bishop, we're on the right path to doing so. So hopefully by next summer, we will be able to come home and be sealed in the Laie, Hawaii Temple. I can't imagine a better place to be sealed to MY family <3

Rush meets Carrots!

At Rush's 4 month appointment this past Wednesday, her Doctor gave us the OK to start introducing Rush to baby food if we wanted. We excitedly headed to Wal-Mart today to pick some up. We picked up peas, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches, and prunes! Oh, I almost forgot, we picked up rice too! (lol) Gotta have the rice....HAWAIIAN! hahahaa Now Rush can eat rice too! Well, when mixed with breast milk or formula that is...but still!! She's getting closer and closer to eating Big people food! :)

We decided to start Rush off with veggies first! (Since, both my mom and Rush's doctor said that once babies taste the sweetness of fruits, they usually won't like the taste of vegetables.) With that said, Rush was introduced to Mr. Carrots today!!! And to mine and Linc's surprise, she LOVED it! Now we just hope she'll feel the same way about the rest of her vegetables...we'll see. Here are some pictures of Rush's FIRST baby food experience. Yay!

Daddy did the feeding...

Carrots, yuuum!

mm mm mmmm

I like it...SEE :)

All done!

Happily getting cleaned up.

That was good, i'm nice and full now.

The End
