Curiosity killed Rush's night

Every night we have a routine where after we shower, we'll feed Rush then put her in her crib with my laptop while she watches her favorite movie "The Princess and the Frog." Since Rush has learned how to crawl and stand, she thinks she's Miss Independent; moving around like it's nobody's business.

Last night we did our nightly routine and put Rush in her crib to watch her movie. All of a sudden we hear a tapping noise, (Rush had crawled from one side of her crib to the other and started pressing keys on the laptop) followed by a pause and then a SCREAM! She started screaming and crying like there was NO TOMORROW!!!

We quickly got up to see what was wrong and couldn't help but laugh when we saw what the problem was. Rush was crying because she had paused the movie right at this part:

Hahahahaa. For those of you who know this movie know that this part is only like a second long. So, for her to pause it on this part was pretty hilarious!! I mean, I know it scared her (hence her screaming with horror) BUT it did teach her not to touch my laptop anymore.....well for the rest of the night that is. She didn't eeeeven want to finish watching her movie! lol. Something I just had to share.

Happy *142* Day

Happy 142 Day Everyone! You're probably thinking, "you mean 143?" No, it's not a typo; 142: "i love us." After seeing that 'I love us' commercial, I look at Valentine's Day in a different perspective. Less at how "I love him" and more at how "I love us!" Who we've become, how we've grown, and where we're at today in our lives because of US.

I am more than fortunate to share this special day with not only one but TWO Valentines! My wonderful, loving, hardworking, handsome Husband & our beautiful, full of energy, NEVER boring, 8 month old daughter Rush!!!

catchin' up

Since I haven't blogged in over a month, (i know, SLACKING) I figured it was time for a change! First of all, HAWAII was great! A very much needed break! NOT from my hubby of course, but from Washington and at times Rush...haha! I had so many babysitters for Rush when I went home that I was able to sleep in, go hang out with girlfriends, and catch up on "ME" time! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mother but when you're ONLY job is being a mother and nothing else, well it can get a little overwhelming especially when you live like a million miles away from family. So again I say THANK YOU to my wonderful husband who allowed me to go home for a break although he wasn't able to come too. That's what you call Love! :) Also, THANK YOU to my #1 baby sitters back home (my family), even though it was a win-win situation because they got to spend time with Rush while I had time to myself to just kick up my feet and relax! SO Grateful for all of you!!!

Anyways, since we've been back in Washington a lot has been going on. (Hence the slacking on blogging) Rush is now a couple weeks shy of 9 months and has a total of 4 teeth - two top, two bottom. She's been eating solid foods for about 4 months now but since she now has teeth, she loves chewing her food thoroughly! Not to mention, randomly biting us on for no reason. lol

Her new favorite thing to do is crawl! Yup, CRAWL! She first started off crawling backwards and she mastered that very quick. But now she has figured out how to crawl going forward. She isn't as fast going forward as she is going backwards but with a little motivation of something to crawl to like food lol (preferably puffs haha) she does it!! She has grown sooo much since her birth, it's CRAZY! Now that she's mobile and has teeth, it's a whole different ball game.
